Growing a Business is a Bit Like Gardening

Almost everyone has tried to grow something and failed. It takes a lot of knowledge to be a successful gardener, just as it does with business.

Occasionally you’ll get lucky and plant something that grows despite your lack of expertise, but more often than not, you’ll end up with a wilted plant or a barren patch of soil.

That’s the same with starting a business. Set up a business without the right foundations, and you’ll fail.

We’ll use some gardening analogies to describe marketing techniques to make them easier to make sense of.

What we do:

We do all the difficult parts that require specialist knowledge, expensive apps and subscriptions. That means setting up your analytics properly, performing all research, auditing your website and visibility and creating the growth marketing plan.

We create the garden environment for you.

What you do:

You or someone designated by you will implement the plan that we create. We’ll teach you what to plant and how to weed it and nourish it so that your website flourishes bringing fruit and blossoms in the form of customers, assets and profit.

You tend the garden.

This leads to missed opportunities, stagnant growth, and a sense of uncertainty about the future.

But fear not!

Now you’ll have a plan that you can work to that will increase your enquiries and grow your business…. even if you have ZERO marketing experience.

This isn’t just any plan…..IT’S YOUR PLAN.

Based on research and analysis of your business and your competitors.

Just as it would be if you employed a marketing agency.

The same strategies that we use for our done-for-you clients.

But instead of doing the work for you and charging you every single month, we’ll create the plan for you to work on, and you just pay once.

Included in the Customised Local Marketing Growth Plan

1. Benchmark current performance.

A complete audit of existing website and internet visibility, including traffic analysis and backlink audit.

2. Set up analytics correctly.

We will do this for you if we can have access or give you instructions to set up yourself. It’s better if we do it to avoid any hold-ups. Includes Google Tag Manager, GA4, Search Console and Microsoft Clarity.

3. Competitor analysis.

We’ll analyse your top competitors to determine what keywords drive traffic to their sites. We’ll use this to tell you how to steal their website traffic.

We’ll also give you a list of backlinks that your competitors have that you don’t.

4. Google Business Profile audit.

Your GBP is the single most valuable asset for a local business, and it’s free. We’ll audit your listing and tell you how to get the most out of your free entry to target more keywords.

5. Content audit.

Want to know why your website isn’t performing well?  We’ll audit your content and tell you what’s missing, what needs to be improved, and how to optimise it for search engines.

6. On-page SEO audit.

This audit looks at the structure of your site and the SEO foundations. The on-page audit looks at the URL structure, meta description, title tags, headings, internal linking and page structure. Each page will be analysed and scored against competitors. You’ll receive instructions for improving the pages for ranking in Google.

7. Audit technical SEO issues

Technical issues can sound scary, especially if you’ve never had anything to do with your website. They needn’t be, though. Most things are easily fixable when you know how. Others may not be important unless your competitors are getting it right and outranking you. Most local businesses are not. You’ll receive an assessment of factors that can affect SEO. Some are easily fixable. Others may require the help of a professional.

8. Off-page SEO audit.

An off-page SEO audit for a local business involves evaluating its backlinks, social media presence, online reviews, and brand reputation to improve search engine rankings and online visibility.

9. Content Marketing Plan

Based on the audits and keyword research, we’ll devise a content strategy for your website, which may include pages and/or articles depending on your objectives.

Where pages for the keyword already exist, we’ll provide an optimisation plan.

Where pages for the keyword do not exist, we’ll provide a content plan.

Technical SEO

You’ll need access to the back-end of your website or help from a website professional to work on these aspects.

  • Mobile Optimisation
  • Site Speed
  • Duplicate Content
  • XML Sitemaps
  • Canonical Tags
  • Redirects
  • Broken Links
  • Hreflang
  • Site Structure

On-Page SEO

You’ll need access to the front-end of your website or help from a website professional to work on these aspects.

  • Meta Title Tags
  • Meta Title Descriptions
  • Content alignment
  • Optimise keywords
  • Rewrite or add copy
  • Internal links
  • Outbound Links
  • Image Alt Tags & Optimisation
  • User Experience

Off-Page SEO

You’ll be able to work on these without touching the website. Some, such as Google Business, relate to on-page SEO.

  • Google My Business
  • Link Consistency
  • Review Management
  • Social Signals
  • Audience Targeting
  • Backlinks
  • Local Relationships
  • Directories
  • Authority

What do you need?

This is a combination of done-or-you and do-it-yourself.

You will need someone to do the marketing work that we teach you to do.

The work involves:

  • Creating content for the website and social media.
  • Analysing the traffic and website behaviour and making adjustments.
  • Creating posts in Canva or other design app.

You may be able to do this yourself, but the aim will be for you to concentrate on running the business. You may have an administrative employee who can take on these tasks or a family member or friend may be suitable for working part-time.

The time you take depends on how quickly you want to grow, but allow for at least three hours per week – minimum.

What happens now?

Step 1. Register your interest by completing the form. Click “Start now” on the plan below that you are interested in.

Step 2. We will conduct a basic audit and ensure the plan is right for you.

Step 3. If you are happy to proceed, we’ll get you signed up and then start the set-up process. This involves getting you and/or us access to everything we need. We’ll set up your analytics correctly and install you into our systems for monitoring. We’ll start auditing the technical and off-page SEO and alert you of anything that needs immediate attention.

Step 4. After one month, or when we have access to everything we need, we will finalise the audits.

5. All audits and plans will be presented within 7 days if you have paid in full. The content plans will be staggered if paid in instalments. Your monitoring time will start in the second month. The monitoring up until that point is free.

Don’t forget, you don’t have to work on this marketing plan yourself. You could have a member of staff trained up or employ a family member or friend to learn how to help you grow your business.

You’d probably like to know how much your 2024 Customised Local Marketing Plan costs?

We realise that local businesses come in all shapes and sizes. Whatever stage you are at in your business growth journey, we have a plan for you.

The costs are based on target keywords in multiples of 8. So, even if you have a bigger website, you can start with 8 and see how you get on. You may, by this time, understand the formula and feel able to repeat the process without help.

Bear in mind that if you do come back to us for more, your per-keyword price is based on where you start.

A target keyword will also have associated keywords known as a cluster. For instance, if your target keyword were ‘secondary glazing’, that would be your target keyword, but the page you use to target that keyword would also target terms like “secondary double glazing” and “sash window secondary glazing” which are also valid keyword targets but may not justify a page of their own.

You can have more keywords than you currently have pages. Instead of an audit and optimisation plan for the missing page, you would receive an outline plan for a new page.

You Won’t See This Often!

All the time that you are in our system and for three months after, we guarantee not to work with the competitors identified in your plan.

First Come First Served – No Places Held

10% off when you book to start your implementation in June and July.

We’ll get you into our monitoring systems and start anything urgent but your growth plan will be delivered at the start of your chosen month.
